Ashling joined the Solas Project team in 2017 and leads our Justice Team. Working with Rua, Compass, and The Yard. She works face-to-face with the young people on these programmes, while also managing the staff and activities. As a Programme Manager Ashling also serves on our Leadership team.
Previously, Ashling worked for eight years in a Garda Youth Diversion Project in Dublin's North Inner City, as well as with Roca in Boston, an organisation focused on young gang members. She strongly believes that every person should have the opportunity to live a fulfilling life and is motivated to fight the inequality and disadvantage that prevents this for some.
Nothing makes Ashling happier than putting on her Dublin jersey and going to cheer on the boys in blue. She also plays camogie and is part of Kevin's Hurling Club.
Ashling has a BA in Public Administration and Community Development from the University of Limerick, as well as a Master's in Youth and Community Work from the National University of Maynooth. After being employed full time as a youth worker, she completed a Level 7 in Youth Justice, and a Level 8 in Restorative Practice and Mediation at Maynooth.
